What I do
Botanical painting using Pastels
Pamela's passion for Australia's wildflowers and her use of the vibrant medium of Pastels provides these showy floral paintings.
Painting wildlife and other animals in Pastel
Making the viewer wonder, "what is that animal thinking" is Pamela's goal. Thus her Cheeky animals in soft and hard pastel.
Water Colour Botanical Painting
The much more traditional approach to Botanical Painting. This is Pamela's home turf and what she has been doing for over twenty years.
I am inspired by Australia's beautiful, unique and sometimes strange plants and wildlife

ABOUT ME
I paint and photograph what I love, Australia’s beautiful plants and wildlife.
My painting journey began doing botanical watercolour which I still love and continue to paint and exhibit with the Botanical Art Interest Group in Mackay.
Initially, all my botanical pieces were painted from life, but discovered this had its limitations. Plants did not flower at the convenience of the artist. The solution allowed me to bring painting together with my life long creative interest – Photography.
Since moving to Mackay, thanks to the Mackay Art Society and Mackay’s dynamic arts community I found pastels. The vibrancy of colour has transfixed me and allowing me to bring a whole new life to my art work.
I also do scratch boards, pastel landscapes and portraits.
I have works of Art for sale and can do commissions. I am also available to provide beginner classes in Pastel, scratchboard, illustration and using photos creatively to paint from. Please contact me via the contact page.
For those that don’t know, Mackay is on the North Queensland Coast, half way between Brisbane and Cairns (1000KM either way). It is a big country.
